To my deviant-mates who enjoy this sort of thing, a small opinion note about the creative crisis in Japan.
To fix the crisis: Japan
, and by that I mean the industry and local consumers, have to open its mind.
In recent years I watched a tons of anime. Some excellent, mainly 'super productions' like HxH2011
, Death Note
and Attack on Titan
. Also watched lots of new ones that only served to balance the whole thing (mostly those with about 12 episodes), and I think they were pretty nice. Now the deal with me, personally, is that I'm already fed up.
From the resents, I loved JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders
, I loved watching Assassination Classroom
, and I loved Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun
. I enjoy all the genres. But those are exceptions. All the other "minor projects" are reusing the same old formula over, and over, and over
I'm tired of this damn formula, that many other Anime fans have been noticing for a while: This crap of being way too local, with repeated situations and jokes!
Japan and I love
Japanese culture, but a strong culture is no excuse to recycle the same jokes and situations to exhaustion.
I'm currently returning from a parade that took me nearly four months without Anime. I'm revisiting Saint Seya and Dragon Ball Z again. At least they're actually good and do not age. I'm also gonna take this opportunity to check out other classics like Rurouni Kenshin, Yu Yu Hakusho and, hell, Cowboy Bebop.
So, what do you think?
Do you agree that the crisis is real?
Maybe there's just a bunch of bad ones coming out with the good stuff.
Leave me a comment, and tell me some good Anime you saw these days!
